Biography

Katia Cejie is a Professor specializing in fiscal law, with a primary focus on direct taxation in cross-border settings. She has published five books and seventy articles, as well as chapters in various books. Passionate about teaching, she serves as the program director for the Master's program in Comparative International Taxation, which comprises 60 ECTS. Cejie has received several awards recognizing her excellence in research and teaching. Additionally, she serves as the editor for the Swedish Journal SkatteNytt and holds a chair at the Uppsala Centre of Tax Law. Her research primarily encompasses tax law, European Union tax law, exit taxes, social security contributions, direct taxation, and comparative tax law, particularly individual income taxation. One of her significant research projects focuses on the joint area of income taxes and social security contributions in cross-border situations, aiming to identify legal solutions to issues arising from mismatches between systems applied in these contexts. The complexity and unpredictability of legislations often deter individuals from taking work abroad, highlighting the need for thorough studies of domestic laws, jurisdictions, and applicable international legal materials. Currently, she is studying and comparing the legal culture and relevant legislation between Sweden and the People's Republic of China, a project financed by the Torsten Söderberg Foundation.
