Biography

Katie Jo Light, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Primary Care & Rural Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree at Angelo State University in 2016, Dr. Light received her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2020. She further advanced her training through a residency in Family Medicine at Texas A&M, completing in 2023 with an Advanced Obstetrics Track specialization. Dr. Light is board certified in family medicine and holds various provider certifications including ACLS, PALS, NRP, and is a NAMS certified menopause practitioner. Her teaching interests focus on maternal-child health, operative obstetrics, women's health, and office procedures, contributing to the education and training of future medical professionals in these vital areas of healthcare. She is committed to improving health outcomes through comprehensive education and patient-centered care.
