Biography

Katie Maxwell earned her EdD in Educational Leadership from Western University (2019) and a Master of International Education (School Leadership) from Charles Sturt University (2015). She brings an international perspective to education through her experience as a K–12 classroom teacher for 18 years, working with students in a variety of schools across Australia, Japan, and Canada. Throughout her eleven-year career, she has served as a school principal in both urban and rural K–8 schools in Ontario. Katie is committed to developing leadership and scholarship among adult learners in education and has led additional qualification courses and graduate programs for teachers and principals through organizations such as the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO), the Ontario Principal’s Council, Queen’s University, Nipissing University, and Western University. She has a strong focus on enhancing educational practices and advocating for quality teaching and learning.
