Biography
Katja Ignatieva is a Sciential Associate Professor in the School of Risk and Actuarial Studies at UNSW Business School. She joined UNSW in November 2011, completing her Co-tutelle PhD in Finance from Goethe University Frankfurt and Macquarie University. Prior to her PhD studies, she earned an MSc in Mathematics and Statistics from Humboldt University Berlin and Glasgow University, UK. Katja's research interests focus on quantitative finance, particularly financial econometrics, derivative pricing, and risk management. She conducts empirical research in financial markets, including commodity and energy markets, as well as insurance. Her published work appears in top-tier international journals such as the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and Energy Economics.
