Biography

Katja Schmidtpott is a professor of Japanology at Freie Universität Berlin, specializing in social and cultural history of Japan. She studied Japanology at Philipps-University Marburg, where she earned her Magister Artium in 1997. Schmidtpott was a research assistant at the Ruhr-University Bochum from 1997 to 2006.
