Dr. Katrin Flikschuh

Biography

Katrin Flikschuh is a Professor of Political Theory at the London School of Economics, where she has been a faculty member since 2003. With a robust academic background, she completed her BA in Politics at the University of Essex, followed by an MA in African Politics at the University of London, and a PhD in Philosophy. Her prior academic positions include lectureships in philosophy at the University of Essex and the University of Bristol, and a focus on political theory at the University of Manchester. Flikschuh's scholarly work emphasizes the intersection of Kant's philosophy with contemporary political theory, aiming to interrogate historical and modern African philosophical thought. Currently, she is a Principal Investigator for the Leverhulme Trust International Networks Project, which investigates connections between African and Western social and political thought. Flikschuh has also traveled extensively in West Africa as part of her research endeavors.
