Biography

Katrin Mueller-Johnson is an Associate Professor of Criminology and a Research Fellow at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in Human Development from Cornell University, an MSt in Legal Research from the Centre of Social Legal Studies at the University of Oxford, and a Diploma in Psychology from the Free University of Berlin. Her current research interests focus on victimization, particularly cyber-victimization. Dr. Mueller-Johnson is investigating the impact of victimization such as sextortion and the barriers to disclosing and reporting victimization. Additionally, her work addresses the experiences of individuals in public-facing roles, such as police officers, and the ensuing impact on their families. She is also interested in the potential for vicarious victimization among police officers, especially in the context of child abuse investigations. Her research includes investigative interviewing and police legal decision-making concerning cyber-facilitated crimes. Her work is funded by several organizations, including the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), and the British Academy. Dr. Mueller-Johnson teaches courses in the MSc in Criminology, Criminal Justice Research Methods, and Quantitative Data Analysis in Psychology and Law.
