Biography

Professor Katrin Wudy's research focuses on laser-based additive manufacturing techniques for plastics and metals, emphasizing the entire process chain, including material development, new process strategies, automation solutions, and quality management. She studied plastics and rubber engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and completed her PhD at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) in the field of powder beam-based additive manufacturing in 2017. Between 2015 and 2019, she led the 'Additive Manufacturing' working group at the Institute of Polymer Technology and served as Managing Director of the Collaborative Research Center 814 on 'Additive Manufacturing' at FAU. Since 2019, she has been an Assistant Professor in laser-based additive manufacturing at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
