Biography

Katrina Choe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour at McMaster University. Her research focuses on how gene mutations linked to psychiatric disorders influence neurobiological processes at various levels including molecular, cellular, circuit, and network. She employs a multi-level, integrative approach to study these complex relationships, with particular attention to how disruptions in these processes can alter social behavior. Choe received her PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University after completing her Honours B.Sc. in Zoology at the University of Toronto. She furthered her research through a Postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA between 2013 and 2020, developing her expertise in the intersection of genetics and behavioral neuroscience.
