Biography

Katrina Gaitatzis joined the ALERT Centre in 2013, currently working as the Research Coordinator and Senior Research Officer. In her role, she has managed large international randomized trials, leads ethics governance applications, and provides project management support for research projects. Her expertise includes developing REDCap databases for research initiatives and creating prospective surveillance models for care interventions in lymphoedema. In 2020, Katrina became an accredited lymphoedema practitioner after completing the ALERT Level 1 Lymphoedema Accreditation Training Program, and in 2023, she completed the Lymphoedema Practice Head Neck Region microcredential. With a background in research since 2011, Katrina is currently pursuing her Masters Research in head and neck lymphoedema at Macquarie University. She is a member of Exercise Sports Science Australia and the Australasian Lymphology Association.
