Biography

Katrina Perehudoff is a health scientist and legal scholar with a decade of experience in pharmaceutical policy. She serves as an assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam’s Law Centre for Health and Life, where her research focuses on the international and European aspects of pharmaceutical law and policy, particularly emphasizing equitable access to medicines. Katrina holds a Veni grant from the Dutch Research Council (2022-2025) to examine the legal and empirical aspects of the EU’s role in global access to medicines. In addition, she supervises a Hestia grant project to investigate the impacts of the EU's pharmaceutical legislation in the North Africa and Middle East region. As a co-investigator of the END-VOC consortium, she is involved in developing pandemic preparedness strategies concerning legal and regulatory interventions for new COVID-19 variants. Katrina is also a lecturer in the Global Health and International Law course at the University, and has trained as a postdoctoral researcher at the International Centre for Reproductive Health in Belgium and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Her educational background includes a Master's in Health Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master's in European Law from Ghent University, and a PhD from the University of Groningen. Katrina is actively involved in practical policy applications, serving on the Advisory Board of the Pharmaceutical Accountability Foundation and contributing to various European health organizations. She has provided consultancy to the European Regional Office and advised members of the European Parliament and various NGOs.
