Dr. Katrina Salmon

Biography

Katrina Salmon is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Sustainable Resources, specifically working within the Centre for Net Zero Market Design at University College London. She holds an MSc in Economics, Policy, and Energy Environment from University College London and has also graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Her research primarily focuses on electricity market design and energy policy, addressing the role of renewables in meeting Great Britain's decarbonization targets. Additionally, her work explores the integration of battery energy storage in enabling electricity decarbonization and the transition of natural gas in energy systems. Furthermore, Katrina collaborates with Chinese partners to compare policies for decarbonizing electricity systems in the UK and China.
