Biography

Katrina E. Traber, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University. She specializes in Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep & Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Traber completed her MD and PhD at New York University School of Medicine, as well as her MS. Her research focuses on serious respiratory conditions and the role of neutrophils in acute lung infections. Utilizing both in vivo and in vitro models, her goal is to develop innovative strategies to respond to severe cases of pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Currently, her work includes examining the modulation of the neutrophil transcriptome and investigating factors like Oncostatin M, which affect neutrophil migration and function in the lungs during infections. She is affiliated with the Boston University Pulmonary Center and is a member of the Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research. Dr. Traber supports collaborative research projects and welcomes inquiries from peers interested in joining her research efforts.
