Biography

Katsuo Kurabayashi is a Professor and Chair of the Mechanical Aerospace Engineering Department at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. His research interests focus on microfluidic biosensors, nanoplasmonic biosensors, automated biomedical instrumentation, and clinical assay devices. He has significant expertise in using nanofabrication technologies and microfluidics for applications in healthcare. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Chemistry and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, reflecting his contributions and leadership in the field. He earned his B.S. in Precision Engineering from the University of Tokyo and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science from Stanford University. Kurabayashi has delivered more than 60 research talks at various esteemed institutions and conferences, establishing a strong presence in the academic community.
