Biography

Katya Rhodes is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria and an associate member of the Department of Psychology. She leads the Zero-Emissions Sustainability Team (ZEST), focusing on low-carbon economy transitions and climate policy design. Her research employs survey-based methods, energy-economy modeling, and comparative climate policy analysis. Dr. Rhodes has served on Canada’s Sustainable Development Advisory Council and has been President of the Canadian Society for Ecological Economics. She is actively involved in teaching courses such as Sustainability Transitions, Economics Policy Analysis, and Quantitative Methods in Public Policy Analysis. Dr. Rhodes has worked extensively on projects aimed at understanding public perceptions of climate policy and the effectiveness of such policies. She holds a PhD from Simon Fraser University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree with Honours. Her expertise includes multi-attribute climate policy analysis and pro-environmental behavior, underpinned by her academic credentials and notable professional contributions in public policy and ecological economics.
