Dr. Kaveh Amouzgar

Biography

Kaveh Amouzgar has an engineering background with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering obtained in 2003 in Iran. He worked for eight years in the automotive and oil & gas industries before moving to Sweden in 2010 to pursue an MSc in Product Development and Materials Engineering. His master's thesis sparked an interest in multi-objective optimization and simulation-based optimization using finite element methods for real-world industrial applications. He continued his education by pursuing a PhD in Informatics at the University of Skövde, which he completed in 2018. His work focused on data analytics and he has taught courses on optimization and operations research. Currently, as an Assistant Professor at Uppsala University, he is part of the Industrial Analytics Group within the Division of Industrial Engineering Management, and he is responsible for the master's program in Intelligent Automation. His research interests include the application of machine learning and data analytics in industrial settings, particularly through simulation-based optimization techniques. Kaveh has been involved in various research projects, including MANUFACTOR and ARTISAN, aiming to integrate AI and advanced learning systems into manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency and decision-making.
