Biography

Kay Hasebe is an active researcher who joined Professor Margaret Morris's laboratory in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of New South Wales Sydney in 2020. She earned her PhD in Medicine from Deakin University, which was awarded in June 2018. Her research focuses on the converging impacts of environmental factors, diet, and stress on the peripheral and central immune system and gut microbiome, as well as their effects on affective behavior in both animal models and clinical populations. Hasebe's current collaborations include working with Professor Morris and Professor Fred Westbrook from the School of Psychology to explore the underlying mechanisms by which maternal obesity affects behavioral outcomes in offspring.
