Biography

Kayla Romberger is an artist and arts organizer based in Philadelphia. Her work has been exhibited at notable venues such as Satellite Projects in Miami, the 4th Gwangju Design Biennale in South Korea, BASE in Beijing, and MOCAD, as well as at the New York Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1. Her artistic contributions have been featured in prominent publications including The Guardian, Detroiter, ArtForum, and Designboom. Romberger holds a Master of Fine Arts and a Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Michigan. Before her current position at the University of Pennsylvania, she interned at the Whitney Museum and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. She is a co-founder and co-director of the bookshop and exhibition space, Ulises, where she has organized exhibitions for various artists and publishing groups, such as Hannah Black, Martine Syms, and Pablo Helguera. Currently, she is involved in a project titled 'Publishing Practice,' which is an experimental art publishing residency funded by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
