Biography

Kazeem Alasinrin Babatunde earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2020. His research focuses on developing a standalone agent-based economic simulation platform to analyze Malaysia's energy transition and decarbonization policy scenarios. His innovative work has led to registered patents and publications in high-impact international journals. His expertise spans energy transition modeling, energy poverty, decarbonization policy, and electricity market analysis, with a strong emphasis on combining econometric rigor with advanced computational methods. He is currently expanding his methodological scope by integrating agent-based modeling and computational econometrics to simulate and analyze the complex, adaptive behaviors of energy systems. His ongoing research examines the interplay between Net-Zero targets, electricity subsidies, market reforms, and social vulnerability, aiming to generate data-driven insights to support equitable and efficient energy policies in Malaysia and beyond. Kazeem is also committed to teaching courses in applied econometric methods and statistical analysis.
