Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Kazuki Nagashima. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Kazuki Nagashima is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. His research focuses on the human intestine and its complex interactions with a vast array of molecules from the microbiome, diet, and pathogens. Despite the advancements in understanding these interactions, the mechanisms by which the intestinal immune system allows beneficial microbes to acquire nutrients while mounting inflammatory responses against pathogens remain largely unexplored. This knowledge gap has implications for the rational design of therapies for diseases that arise from immune disruptions, including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and allergies. His laboratory is dedicated to addressing this challenge by focusing on T cell receptor recognition and developing new technologies to deepen understanding of human immunology at the molecular level.
