Dr. Ke Wang

Biography

Ke Wang is an Associate Professor at the Alberta School of Business, specializing in Accounting and Business Analytics. He holds a PhD in Accounting from City University of Hong Kong and a BBA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests encompass capital markets, textual analysis of corporate disclosures, and stakeholder relations. Wang's publications include significant contributions to journals such as Accounting Horizons and Contemporary Accounting Research. His work explores diverse issues, from stock price crash risks associated with asset securitizations to the readability of corporate disclosures and its implications for market perceptions. Wang has received several research grants, including an SSHRC Insight Grant, and he actively engages in teaching managerial accounting, financial accounting, and data analytics at the undergraduate level. He has been recognized for his teaching and research efforts with multiple fellowships, including the Canadian Utilities Faculty Fellowship. He is also featured in various media, emphasizing the impact of his research on corporate governance and investor relations.
