Biography

Keefe Reuther received his Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics from Saint Louis University, where he studied invasion biology and the evolution of social behavior in ants. He is currently focused on developing curricula and teaching strategies related to experimental design and data analysis. His research interests lie in assisting students in their development as biologists by incorporating elements beyond traditional biology, such as experimental design, data analysis, communication, information literacy, and critical thinking within the context of the modern world. He aims to create toolkits for students and educators to evaluate scientific information, particularly concerning topics in ecology, evolution, and genetics. He has received several accolades for his teaching, including the Barbara Paul Saltman Distinguished Teaching Award in 2018 and the Revelle College Outstanding Teaching Award in 2017. He joined the faculty of Biological Sciences as a lecturer in 2009, and became an Assistant Teaching Professor in 2020.
