Biography

Keegan J. Moore is an Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology's Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering and the Director of the Moore Dynamics and Analytics Laboratory (MoDAL). His research focuses on integrating modern data science and autonomy into nonlinear dynamics to facilitate understanding and control of complex systems. Moore's lab is known for its pioneering work in developing data-driven methods for analysis and design of nonlinear aerospace structures. His foundational research has led to significant advancements, including discovering governing equations directly from experimental data, creating AI-based frameworks for autonomous testing, and crafting reduced-order models for efficient simulation. Moore's work investigates critical phenomena such as energy guiding non-reciprocity in acoustic metamaterials and devising novel vibration mitigation strategies through nonlinear absorbers. He has been recognized for his contributions with awards including the 2023 National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the 2022 Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigator Program Award. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before joining Georgia Tech, earning his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron in 2014 and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018, where he was awarded the prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
