Dr. Kees Camfferman

Biography

Kees Camfferman is a Full Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with expertise in financial reporting and accounting standards. His research focuses on the development of financial reporting for listed companies from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Specific themes in his current projects include accounting standard-setting, the relationship between IFRS and local regulatory frameworks, as well as voluntary disclosure in the context of company law. He has contributed significantly to understanding financial reporting through historical insights and contemporary applications, especially in the Dutch context. Camfferman is also involved in various academic activities and has served as the Programme Director for the MSc in Accounting Control. He teaches Accounting and Advanced Financial Reporting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
