Biography

Keith Hill is the inaugural Director of the Rehabilitation, Ageing and Independent Living (RAIL) Research Centre at Monash University since July 2019. He is a senior researcher in the Ageing Stream at the RAIL Research Centre with extensive experience in physiotherapy, specializing in falls prevention, exercise, and rehabilitation for older adults. Previously, Hill was the Head of the School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science at Curtin University for 6.5 years and served as the Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin for one year. He has led more than 131 research grants totaling $54.3 million, with 30 grants worth $22.1 million awarded over the past five years. He has authored 450 peer-reviewed publications, supervising 31 PhD students to completion and currently supervising 5 PhD students and 1 MPhil student. His recent projects involve co-designing novel services to support the health and wellbeing of older carers, improving patient rehabilitation, and enhancing physical activity for individuals living with mild dementia. Keith's work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and health sectors.
