Keith Jerome, MD, PhD, is a full professor at the University of Washington's Department of Laboratory Medicine and the Vaccine Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He received his MD and PhD degrees from Duke University, specializing in Microbiology and Immunology. Currently, he serves as a co-principal investigator on defeatHIV, an NIH-funded program aimed at developing curative therapies for HIV. Dr. Jerome also leads the diagnostic virology program at the University of Washington, overseeing the implementation of molecular testing assays for a wide variety of human viruses.
