Biography

Keith Stantz is an Associate Professor in Medical Physics within the School of Health Sciences at Purdue University. He has a diverse educational background, holding a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Valparaiso University (1988), an M.S. in Physics from Michigan State University (1991), and a PhD in Physics from Indiana University (1998). His doctoral research focused on particle physics, specifically as a part of the MEGA research team investigating rare muon decay at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Over the years, he has developed various imaging technologies, including CT and optical thermoacoustic imaging methods. His research interests include physiological imaging techniques, dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging, and the relationship between tumor biology and hypoxia. Stantz is dedicated to training students in the field of Medical Physics and continues to advance diagnostic imaging in cancer treatment. He is also associated with several professional organizations, including the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC).
