Biography

Keith E. Whittington is the David Boies Professor of Law at Yale Law School, where he also serves as the faculty director of the Center for Academic Freedom and Free Speech. His teaching and research interests encompass American constitutional theory, political constitutional history, judicial politics, the presidency, and free speech law. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1995 and has authored several significant works including 'Can't Teach Battle', 'Repugnant Laws: Judicial Review Acts Congress Founding Present', and 'Speak Freely: Universities Defend Free Speech'. Throughout his academic career, he has held positions at Princeton University, Georgetown University Law Center, Harvard Law School, and the University of Texas School of Law. Whittington is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has written extensively for both academic and general audiences, with works appearing in outlets such as the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal.
