Biography

Keitra Thompson is an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She is a dually board-certified family psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides care to patients of all ages in community health settings. Dr. Thompson utilizes her extensive clinical experiences and the principles of translational science and community engagement to inform her equity-driven health services research program development. Her work focuses on employing mixed-method research, evaluation, and program implementation strategies to improve the overall well-being of families and children who are disproportionately affected by poverty, intergenerational trauma, and suboptimal mental health and social outcomes. She earned her B.A. in Anthropology, Global Health, & Gender Studies from Emory University, as well as her BSN, MSN, and DNP from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and her MHS from Yale School of Medicine. She is also a post-doctoral alumna of the Yale/VA National Clinician Scholars Program.
