Biography

Kelli Moore is an Associate Professor in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU Steinhardt. Her research focuses on various aspects of media, particularly how imagery is utilized in contexts like domestic violence. She is involved in exploring media narratives surrounding trauma and courtroom observations, as well as historical media studies within women's colleges and historically black colleges. Moore's teaching covers survey courses in forensics and rhetoric, race and media, queer color critique, and media aesthetics. She received her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of California, San Diego, and has participated in the University of California President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, where she specialized in Rhetoric at Berkeley. Additionally, Moore aims to prepare students as agile researchers capable of analyzing media technology's impact within cultural and social contexts, essential in our rapidly shifting media landscape.
