Kelli O'Laughlin, MD, MPH, FACEP is a research scientist focused on assessing the health needs of refugee populations and designing and evaluating refugee-specific interventions to improve care. She completed her residency training in emergency medicine at UCLA and earned her MPH in International Health from Harvard School of Public Health, along with training in Clinical Effectiveness at Harvard and a Research Fellowship at the Medical Practice Evaluation Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. O'Laughlin worked at the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, from 2007 to 2019, before joining the University of Washington in 2019 as part of the International Clinical Research Center in the Department of Global Health and the Section of Population Health in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is currently investigating the effectiveness of community ART delivery for newly diagnosed HIV individuals in refugee settlements in Uganda and exploring the delivery preferences of those living with HIV in these settings. O'Laughlin is passionate about improving health outcomes for refugees and is equally devoted to developing skills and enthusiasm in medical students, residents, and fellows.
