Biography

Dr. Kelly Acharya is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University. Dr. Acharya completed her Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University, School of Medicine from 2016 to 2019, following her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same institution from 2012 to 2016. She earned her M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Medicine in 2012. Dr. Acharya's research interests include Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and fertility information needs for cancer survivors. Her notable grants include studies on the role of androgens and lipid metabolites in visceral fat and liver injury in young women, funded by the University of California - San Francisco, and addressing fertility-related distress in female adult survivors of childhood cancer, funded by the National Institutes of Health.
