Biography

Kelly Biagi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Brock University. Her research interests encompass hydrology, biogeochemistry, wetlands, and ecosystem restoration and reclamation. Biagi's current projects include ecosystem reclamation in the Athabasca oil sands region, wetland restoration in the Niagara region, and understanding nutrient load mitigation strategies in the Lower Great Lakes. She employs field and laboratory-based studies in hydrology and biogeochemistry, as well as hydrologic modeling and mapping, to investigate various landscape mitigation practices aimed at restoring the hydrological functioning of degraded ecosystems and improving water resources. Biagi has been a founding member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and has served as co-chair for the Canadian Young Hydrologic Society. Her extensive publication record reflects her contributions to understanding hydrological processes and the ecological implications of industrial landscapes.
