Kelly Capel, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, specializing in neuroradiology with a strong focus on head and neck imaging. She has a commitment to medical education, having been honored with the Faculty Teaching Award by radiology residents in 2025. Dr. Capel's professional interests include spine interventions, particularly fluoroscopic CT-guided procedures, as well as vascular flow imaging and stroke imaging. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from Marquette University and later earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. After completing a transitional year in internal medicine at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, she pursued a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin. Following her residency, she completed subspecialty training in the Neuroradiology Fellowship program at the University of Wisconsin and subsequently joined the faculty. In 2025, she was appointed as the director of the radiology fellowships and the associate program director for the Neuroradiology Fellowship program. Outside of her medical career, Dr. Capel enjoys hiking, traveling, playing soccer, and spending quality time with her family.
