Biography

Kelly Meek joined Concordia University in 2024 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and holds the Gina Cody Research Chair. Previously, he served as an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa. He obtained his PhD from Texas A&M University. His research focuses on advancing sustainability through the study of polymers, particularly polymer electrolytes and ionomers used in electrochemical energy systems such as fuel cells and batteries. He also explores biobased and biodegradable plastics, and nanocomposites, emphasizing the importance of material sustainability. His work contributes to the understanding and development of innovative materials that can enhance energy efficiency and support a sustainable future. Kelly has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, addressing topics related to his research interests including, but not limited to, pressure-sensitive adhesives, ion-exchange membranes, and sustainable composite materials.
