Biography

Kelsey Egan, MD, MSc is a general pediatrician at Boston Medical Center and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Egan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, Health, and Society from Cornell University, her Medical Degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and her Master of Science in Epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health. Her research interests focus on improving clinical-community integration to decrease health outcome inequities for children and families. She is particularly interested in developing and implementing interventions to prevent food insecurity during early childhood, a critical time for rapid growth and development that forms the foundation for future health and well-being. Additionally, Dr. Egan is exploring the use of health information technology to improve the integration of pediatric primary care with federal food assistance programs, such as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
