Biography

Kelsey Macomber has a passion for teaching movement that was unearthed during her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Initially certified to teach yoga, she later added Pilates, Barre, TRX, and Functional Strength training to her credentials, gaining years of part-time teaching experience. Kelsey began teaching full-time in 2017 and finds immense joy and fulfillment in her work. She completed her Pilates Teaching certificate at the UW-Madison Dance Department in 2015, which deepened her understanding of diverse functional movement practices beyond her years of practice and training. Kelsey believes that the integrity of the Pilates Method provides a strong conceptual framework and physical foundation for the body. Her teaching emphasizes mindful awareness and physical precision, blending the Classical Pilates Method with contemporary ideas and integrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology to help students find engagement and connection. In addition to teaching at UW-Madison, Kelsey conducts private sessions and group classes at Spring – Pilates Life Madison. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Applied Exercise Science, expected in May 2025, as well as a PhD in Exercise Psychology at the UW-Madison Kinesiology Department.
