Kelsi Delaney joined the University of Bristol in 2023 as a Lecturer in Global Anglophone Literatures. She specializes in decolonial poetry studies with a focus on Anglophone Caribbean poetry written by the Caribbean diaspora. Currently finishing a monograph titled 'Form Contemporary Anglophone Caribbean Poetry' which aims to provide a comprehensive account of recent developments in poetic form within the Caribbean diaspora. This book highlights the various poetic forms employed by Caribbean poets to signal complex cultural and political affiliations while also illuminating the challenges posed by Eurocentrism in epistemology surrounding poetic form. Additionally, Delaney has conducted research on the AHRC-funded international collaborative project 'Representing Gender-Based Violence: Literature, Performance Activism Anglophone Caribbean', examining the representation of gender-based violence in print literatures and spoken word poetry in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Leicester and the University of the West Indies. Her research interests also include Black British Caribbean spoken word, the permeable boundary between page and stage poetry, and Anglophone Caribbean sonnet traditions. Committed to teaching, research, and outreach, she advocates for a more inclusive landscape in Higher Education.
