Biography

Kelvin Phan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he joined the Athletic Training Program in August 2020. His previous experience includes serving as the clinical education coordinator for the Athletic Training Program. In this role, he was responsible for meeting the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) standards for program accreditation. He teaches various undergraduate courses in the Athletic Training Program and is actively involved in interprofessional education initiatives on campus. Kelvin has a background as an athletic trainer and has provided medical services to women's volleyball and baseball teams while he pursued his Ph.D. He has also served as a preceptor for Athletic Training students and has assisted program faculty in meeting curricular needs. Prior to his current position, Kelvin was an assistant professor and clinical education coordinator at the University of Charleston in West Virginia, where he also served as a preceptor for students and worked with the softball team.
