Biography

Ken Rivlin leads Allen & Overy's global environmental law group and the U.S. environmental regulatory law group. He is also involved in the U.S. pro bono program. His team specializes in advising on environmental regulatory risk transactions across various industrial sectors, ensuring compliance with U.S. and E.U. environmental requirements, including the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, and the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation. Additionally, Rivlin has expertise in emissions trading and climate change, environmental disputes, toxic tort risk, SEC disclosure requirements, and corporate governance issues. He also advises on compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and related matters involving dealings with Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)-sanctioned countries and Exon-Florio. Rivlin has previously worked with Cravath, Swaine & Moore from 1996 to 2001 and McCarter & English from 1994 to 1996. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association's committee on international environmental law and is active in writing and speaking on environmental regulatory matters.
