Biography

Ken Urban is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and musician. His stage plays include 'MODERATE' at Central Square Theater, 'DANGER AND OPPORTUNITY' (Drama Desk Winner), 'GUIDE HOMESICK', 'REMAINS', 'SENSE ENDING', 'NIBBLER', 'CORRESPONDENT', 'AWAKE', and 'HAPPY SAD'. His audio plays have been featured in the 2022 Tribeca Festival and NPR's Playing Air. He is a four-time recipient of the prestigious MacDowell Fellowship, and has received numerous awards including the Venturous Theater Fund Finishing Commission and the Blue Ink Award. His plays are known for addressing themes of reproductive justice and are published by Dramatists Play Service and Broadway Licensing. Ken has also adapted works for film, leads a band called Occurrence, and has released six albums. He has taught writing at several institutions including Harvard University and Princeton University, and is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America.
