Biography

Professor Yeung’s research focuses on Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI MS) tissue imaging. This technique provides a label-free approach to visualize the spatial distribution of molecules of interest in biological tissue sections. His research team’s current work enhances the sensitivity and selectivity for a variety of molecules in brain tissues, lipids, fatty acids, and metabolites. They are collaborating with other researchers to study how brain chemical constituents change due to drug influences and the impacts on neurodegeneration.
