Biography

Kendra Walther serves as Associate Director for Faculty Academic Affairs and is an Associate Professor in the Technology Applied Computing Program at the University of Southern California. Since joining USC in 2014, she has held the position of Associate Director since 2021. Dr. Walther earned her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College, followed by a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland College Park, and an EdD in Educational Leadership from Rossier School at USC. She has experience teaching Computer Science at various institutions, including the Aerospace Corporation, California State University Los Angeles, St. Albans School, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Dr. Walther is passionate about teaching and learning and is an active member of ACM's Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE) and Access Computing. Her teaching focuses on helping non-majors grasp programming concepts through active learning and Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) methodologies.
