Biography

Kenneth W. Allen serves as the Chief Scientist at the Advanced Concepts Laboratory of the Georgia Tech Research Institute. He is also an Adjunct Faculty member at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Allen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with Honors, a Master’s in Applied Physics, and a Ph.D. in Optical Science & Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He teaches courses within Georgia Tech Professional Education focusing on Radar Cross Section Reduction and has developed a course on Electromagnetic Materials Measurements. His research interests include metamaterials, metasurfaces, electromagnetic metastructures, frequency selective structures, reconfigurable antennas, material design, characterization, and super-resolution imaging.
