Dr. Kenneth Hunt

Biography

Professor Kenneth Hunt is a seasoned expert in biomedical engineering, with an extensive background that spans several prominent institutions. Currently, he serves as a Professor and Director of the Institute for Rehabilitation Performance Technology at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Burgdorf, Switzerland. His previous roles include co-founder and inaugural Director of Research at the Scottish Centre for Innovation in Spinal Cord Injury, situated at the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow. As a Wylie Professor of Mechanical Engineering, he led the Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering at the University of Glasgow. Professor Hunt has also held visiting positions at esteemed institutions, including the Sensory-Motor Systems Laboratory at ETH Zurich and the Swiss Paraplegic Research in Nottwil. His early career involved significant advancements in control systems at Daimler-Benz AG in Berlin. His research is focused on developing models and control systems for complex biomedical and healthcare-related applications, with particular emphasis on cardiopulmonary and neurological rehabilitation.
