Dr. Kenneth Ofula

Biography

Kenneth O. Ofula is a Tutorial Fellow in World Christianity at Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford. He is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church of Kenya, based at Saints Cathedral Diocese. Ofula completed his undergraduate studies in Government and Public Administration at Moi University in Kenya and pursued further studies at Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned both his Master of Arts and Ph.D. in the field of World Christianity and the History of Religions. His academic interests lie primarily in World Christianity and African spiritualities, with a specific focus on the interplay between religion and literature, ritual theory and practice, new religious movements, and the role of religion in the public sphere. Ofula actively engages with issues related to adolescent and youth religious formation. He is affiliated with several scholarly organizations, including the American Academy of Religion, the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, the African Association for the Study of Religion, and the International Sociological Association's Research Committee on Sociology of Religion.
