Biography

Kenneth Oye holds a joint appointment in Political Science and Engineering Systems, with research and teaching focused on international relations and technology policy. His published works include 'Cooperation Under Anarchy' and 'Economic Discrimination and Political Exchange,' among others. Oye has contributed to notable journals such as Science and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, addressing technology policy's intersection with political and economic factors. He serves as the director of the MIT Program on Emerging Technologies and is actively involved with the MIT Synthetic Biology Center. In past years, he has been recognized as an expert by organizations including the UN and PCAST. He has previously taught at prestigious institutions including Harvard, Princeton, and the University of California. Oye received his BA in Economics and Political Science from Swarthmore College and a PhD in Political Science from Harvard, where he won the Chase Dissertation Prize.
