Dr. Kenneth Rogoff

Biography

Kenneth Rogoff is the Maurits C. Boas Professor of International Economics at Harvard University. He is renowned for his work in international macroeconomics and financial crises. His influential publications include 'Foundations of International Macroeconomics' co-authored with Maurice Obstfeld, which is a standard graduate text in the field, and 'This Time Is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly' co-authored with Carmen Reinhart, which investigates the historical patterns of financial crises across 66 countries over 800 years. Rogoff has served as the chief economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2001 to 2003 and is recognized for his early research on central bank independence and inflation targeting. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is actively involved with the Council on Foreign Relations and the Group of Thirty. Rogoff has received numerous accolades for his scholarly contributions, including the prestigious Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial Economics in 2011.
