Kent Langston is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at the Yale School of Medicine and a member of the Yale Center for Research on Aging. He received his Ph.D. in Immunometabolism from Harvard University in 2019 and completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on understanding metabolic regulation and macrophage activation during tolerance, as well as the dynamics of physiological inflammatory responses during endurance exercise. His laboratory aims to define the cellular and molecular features of exercise-induced inflammatory responses in both youth and aging, supported by the NIA/NIH K22 award. The ultimate goal of his work is to design exercise-inspired interventions to combat chronic inflammation, enhance performance and recovery from injury, and mitigate age-related frailty, thereby increasing healthspan.
