Dr. Keri Wong

Biography

Keri Wong is an Associate Professor at University College London (UCL) in the Department of Psychology and Human Development, specializing in Developmental Psychology. She is the co-Director of the Centre for Education and Criminal Justice, where she leads research aimed at understanding the causes of youth mental health issues, crime, and severe mental disorders. Keri has been recognized as a UKRI ESRC Policy Fellow, contributing to policy discussions within the UK Home Office. Her academic work has earned support from notable funding bodies, including the UKRI, British Academy, and Youth Endowment Fund. Keri is also active in public engagement as a consultant and speaker and has published extensively on topics related to mental health and youth justice. She has served in various professional capacities, including as an external examiner for the University of Surrey and the University of Bath, and as a guest editor for journals in the fields of psychology and criminology. In her earlier career, Keri completed a PhD at Newnham College, University of Cambridge, and held a Junior Research Fellowship there. She actively contributes to academic communities, holding leadership positions in early career networks and various advisory roles. Keri is recognized as a Chartered Psychologist and a Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
